SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A business in Saratoga Springs is educating new moms. on the benefits of going green.

Green Conscience Home and Garden hosted a luncheon to show off some eco-friendly items for their baby registry. They include things like cribs, mattresses and even diapers.

"They take 500 years to biodegrade and they are 10 percent of the landfill each year. This is an enormous impact on our environment and to switch from disposable to washable diapers are really going to make a huge difference,” said Sandra Beck, founder of Tidy Tots.

Becker says 25 billion disposable diapers go into the landfill each year.
