PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Pittsfield Police say they've received a number of calls about a telephone scam happening in the area.

Police say the caller claims to be with the American Legion and they're calling from a private, blocked number. The American Legion told police it is not taking part in any type of phone solicitation at this time.

Police are reminding people not to give out any information over the phone.
