Deadline to apply for FEMA aid extended

HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- The deadline to apply for FEMA aid from Superstorm Sandy has been extended.

The deadline, which was originally set for December 31st, is now January 28th of next year.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says this is for all 13 disaster declared counties, including Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

If you're still looking to apply for aid, just head to www.disasterassistance.gov or to m.fema.gov via tablet or smart phone. You can also call 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585. Applicants who use 711 Relay or Video Relay Services (VRS) may call 800-621-3362. The toll free telephone numbers operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week until further notice.
