TROY, N.Y. -- Closing arguments could begin as soon as this afternoon in the Troy voter fraud re-trial. The retrial began last month.

Rensselaer County elections commissioner Ed McDonough is charged with forging ballots during the 2009 Troy City Council elections. His attorney says McDonough did not know about the forged ballots.

McDonough was tried with former Troy city councilman Michael Loporto earlier this year, but a mistrial was declared. Loporto was later acquitted of the charges against him.
