ALBANY, N.Y. -- If you've been skipping out on watering your Christmas tree this year, you may want to listen up.
Firefighters say the dry tree can easily go up in flames, taking everything around it, too.
"If they're dry enough and they catch fire, they throw an immense amount of flame. During the holiday season, you have extra combustibles around, cardboard, paper, decorations, so it's kind of an extra dangerous time of the year," said Tom Kretzler, Albany Fire Extinguisher President.
Firefighters recommend you keep a fire extinguisher on every floor of a home.
