POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A 17-year-old was shot and killed in Poughkeepsie early Sunday morning. It happened around 12:45 a.m. on Main Street at the Gyro King.

Police say they received a call for a report of a man shot and a short time later, a taxi brought a 17-year old to Vassar Brothers Hospital, where he died.

According to police, an autopsy is being conducted and the name of the victim's is being withheld, pending family notification.

Police say this was not a random act and it took place in front of several people.
