ALBANY, N.Y. -- Healthcare advocates rallied in Albany to protest cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Members of several activist groups gathered outside Albany Medical center Friday afternoon.

They say people are being misled about the fiscal cliff, and want to see more done to prevent cuts to social programs. They warn the cuts would have a huge impact on groups like the poor, elderly, children, veterans, and the disabled.

“We need to have a fair tax system that properly taxes the wealthy, and provides the kind of services our country requires,” said Susan Weber, Moveon.org regional organizer.

Many healthcare advocates say they face challenges providing care for people, because of some of the budget cuts they're forced to deal with.
