SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Police say they are investigating the suspicious death of a former nun in Schenectady.

Police say 82-year-old Mary Greco's landlord discovered her body inside her Stanford Street home Tuesday morning. Police are investigating why her car was found in the parking lot of St. John's the Evangelist Church shortly after she was discovered.

"I'm not sure what her religious beliefs were. She was a retired nun, but I'm not sure if that was her parish or not, but that will be part of the investigation to find out if that was the place she went. We did take the car. It was seized and will be processed as evidence," said Lt. Mark McCracken.

Police haven't made any arrests and say there was no sign of forced entry at her home. They say Greco lived alone, but did have family living locally.
