WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- Watervliet police arrested a man who they say is responsible for a drive-by shooting. Police say it happened on New Year’s Day in the early morning hours.

They say Bruce Gottsammer, 51, fired an assault rifle at a bedroom window. Police say a resident was sleeping just two feet below. No one was hurt.

Gottsammer was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. He is being held Albany County Jail without bail.
