MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police arrested a downstate man under Leanda's Law. They say he was driving erratically on the Thruway with his teen daughter in the car.

Troopers say Ranjit Singh, 55, was driving recklessly on the Thruway in the Montgomery County town of Florida Wednesday afternoon, crashing into a guardrail on the median. Troopers say Singh took more than the prescribed amount of his medication and was impaired.

Singh has been charged with felony aggravated driving while impaired by drugs, endangering the welfare of a child and traffic violations.
