NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- We now know the name of the victim in Friday morning's deadly house fire. 14-year-old Grace Kline was killed when a fire broke out at her home on Niskayuna Drive.
There's no word on what caused the fire, but investigators hope to have more information at the beginning of next week.
Fire officials say Grace's father was at work when the fire broke out.
With recent tragedies involving children in mind , the Fire Chief says this incident was particularly difficult to deal with.
"There's been a lot of tragedies in the country in recent months, where young people have been involved, and I think it's been difficult to deal with most of us because most of us have children and can relate to it," said Dale Lingenfelter, Niskayuna Fire Chief.
Kline was a student at Van Antwerp Middle School. The Niskayuna School District is activating their crisis management team to assist any grieving students.
