Police arrest teacher for insurance fraud
NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- State police arrested a school teacher for insurance fraud after they say he carried an unqualified dependant on his health insurance plan, for roughly 12 years.
Timothy Johnson, 49, of Newburgh worked at the Washingtonville School District. The school district, which uses the Orange Ulster BOCES Health Plan, suffered a loss of $50,000 during Johnson's time with the school.
He was arrested and charged with insurance fraud and grand larceny. Johnson was arraigned and released.
