Indian Point employee arrested for stealing scrap metal, equipment

BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- An Indian Point employee has been arrested after State Police investigated the disappearance of scrap metal and equipment from the grounds.

Police say Theodore Kozelka, 33, stole large quantities of copper cable and scrap metal between July and December of 2012. Kozelka was the maintenance supervisor at Indian Point during that time period.

Police say they're not sure how much the scrap was sold for, but think it amounted to well over $50,000.

Kozelka was arraigned and charged with felony second degree grand larceny. He was remanded to Westchester County Jail.

Police are still looking into this case. Anyone with information is asked to call them at (914) 788-8044.
