PORT JERVIS, N.Y. -- Authorities are labeling a deadly fire in Port Jervis suspicious.

The fire started at about 11 a.m. Tuesday inside this home on Mountain Avenue. According to police, when firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered a middle-aged woman dead inside the home. A 38-year-old male police say is also in Westchester Medical Center after being burned.

The Orange County District Attorney's office and State Police have been brought in to assist with the fire investigation.

"They're doing a forensic examination. And they're treating it as a crime scene. So at this point, it's a crime scene investigation," Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden.

Authorities say the cause of the fire isn't known.
