Another shot of snow sweeps through the region

A messy and long commute for folks after an icy layer of snow blanketed the area. As YNN's Elaina Athans shows us, residents spent the early morning hours cleaning up.

TOWN OF WALLKILL, N.Y. -- "I was like, not again," said Town of Wallkill resident Richard Olusa.

Yet another shot of snow in the Hudson Valley. This storm swept through in the middle of the morning commute. Plows once again hitting the pavement and clearing roads. Some people made the best of the mess.

"You don't get to do it all the time. It's something you do what once a week, twice a year depending on how much it snows," said Joe Smith from J.T. Property Management.

Others are not appreciating the dig-out. Getting rid of snow has become a bi-monthly task.

"Two weeks ago I do the shoveling and the same thing today," said Town of Wallkill resident Lem Alindogan.

After the last storm at the beginning of January at least one person smarted up. Richard Olusa retrofitted his lawn mower into a personal plower. He forked over $200 to add a piece to the front.

"I was just to heavy doing it manually. I just couldn't do that," said Olusa.

He use to take out a snow plower to clear his driveway. That took three to four hours. But with this contraption, the driveway's done in 20 minutes.

"Much better definitely," said Olusa.
