WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. -- As the country continues to mourn the loss of the 26 victims in the Sandy Hook shooting, local law enforcement agencies are making sure they're prepared for a similar tragedy.

At the request of managers, members of the Warren County Sheriff's Office SWAT team will conduct a training exercise at Aviation Mall in Queensbury on Sunday morning. The training is designed to give deputies a familiarity with the property, so they can be better prepared if a shooting were to unfold there.

While they conduct a training exercise at a different location each month, SWAT team leaders say they've received more requests from business owners in recent months to conduct training at their facilities.

"Are we familiar with the layout of their facilities? Have we ever been through their facilities, so we try and stay up to date and we try and know as much as we can about the buildings where people gather within our community," said Shawn Lamouree, Warren County Undersheriff.

The training exercise is scheduled for 5 a.m. and will wrap up before the mall opens.
