ALBANY, N.Y. — Community leaders held a forum on gun violence in Albany on Saturday.
Organized by former candidate for mayor, Marlon Anderson, the event was styled as a conversation on the subject of guns.
Members of the public were encouraged to step up and tell legislators and local law enforcement officials about what they've experienced dealing with deadly weapons, and how to stop them.
"I believe the urban community should be at the lead of this conversation on the discussion we're having nationally on guns and gun violence," Anderson said.
State Senator John McDonald spoke at the meeting. He voted for the New York SAFE Act, but expects it will be challenged in court.
