The man arrested in connection with the "railroad puppies" case is facing more charges in another situation involving animal neglect. Lori Chung has more.

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- They don't have the words to tell you themselves, but their condition speaks volumes about the neglect these dogs suffered.

"He's been having a rough time for awhile," said Brad Shear, Executive Director of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. "You can see every rib along his sides [and] you can see every vertebrae."

The five-year-old pit bull is one of four found locked in the back of this rental truck in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel in Colonie on Saturday.

"[They were] cold, shivering, emaciated," said Lt. Robert Winn. "Also, the dogs appear to be suffering from some cuts [and] punctures."

Police say Anthony Walker, 30, put them there. He's already facing charges for abandoning the three pit bull puppies found by the railroad tracks in Albany last September. Police say Walker and his family were recently displaced from their Albany home. Social services placed them at the Super 8.

"This hotel does not have the ability for them to have four dogs in a room, so as a result of that, he ended up using this as his temporary solution," said Winn.

Police are now looking into why Walker had those dogs but some see clear signs of misuse.

"Obviously breeding," said Shear. "One of the other dogs looks like she was bred quite a bit. What we see is some breeders see [the dogs] as a profit center. and not as living things."

The four dogs are two females and two males. Officials say there's no way to tell if any of them are the parents of the railroad puppies now known as Hudson and Pearl.

Walker has been charged with torturing and injuring animals and failing to provide substance. He was remanded to the Albany County Jail.
