TROY, N.Y. -- The famous supercomputer Watson is heading to the Capital Region. IBM announces it will send a Watson computer system to RPI.
Watson is best known for beating human opponents on Jeopardy and this is the first time it's being sent to a university.
The computer can process huge amounts of data, including language, and IBM says it sees Watson’s trip to RPI as a way to boost its cognitive abilities. Course work is expected to include English and math.
The original Watson is located in Westchester County at IBM's research headquarters.
