Knicks top Magic; Miami downs Nets

By: Web Staff

STATEWIDE -- The New York basketball teams split their games on Wednesday night.

Carmelo and company routed the Magic in their game at MSG. Six players racked up double digits in points, with Tyson Chandler and Carmelo leading the way with 21 and 20 points, respectively.

Most notably from Wednesday night's action, Carmelo set a new franchise record by scoring at least 20-points for his 30th consecutive game. A record once held by Richie Guerin who played for the Knicks back in the late 50s/early 60s.

Carmelo will look to extend that streak on Friday when the Knicks take on the Milwaukee Bucks at 7:30pm at Madison Square Garden.

Meanwhile, the Nets are back in the loss column after dropping their home game to Miami, 105-85.

LeBron James led the way for all scorers with 24 points. Brook Lopez was the top performer for the Nets with his 21 points and seven rebounds.

They'll try their luck again on Friday night when they host Chicago at 7:30pm.
