Superintendent and principal placed on administrative leave

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The superintendent of the Oppenheim-Ephratah School District, as well as an elementary school principal in the St. Johnsville district, have been placed on administrative leave.

The move to place Superintendent Dan Russom and St. Johnsville Elementary School Principal Christopher Fatta on leave was announced on the Facebook page of the merged Oppenheim-Ephratah and St. Johnsville School District.

Officials did not offer a reason why, saying only that further information would be released "if and when appropriate."

Before taking charge of the St. Johnsville Elementary School, Fatta was the principal under Russom at Oppenheim-Ephratah.
