The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is holding an "Operation Safe Child” event Sunday.

Sunday's event will give parents the chance to have their children fingerprinted and have their pictures taken. Information, like height, weight, and eye color, will be recorded into a database.

Deputies say this information is essential when locating a missing child. Statistics show that 34 percent of parents don't know what color their children’s eyes are or how much their child weighs.

Parents will be given an identification card with their children’s photo and information on it. The event is being held at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Training Center in Lake George, and will run until 5 p.m. this evening.
