KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Kingston Police are searching for a person of interest in the death of Anita Jacobs-Royer. The 45-year-old woman was found dead in her home at 56 Third Avenue over the weekend.

Police were first contacted by a friend of the victim, worried because she hadn't spoken to her in some time. Jacobs-Royer's missing car was found Monday, but police wouldn't say where.

Police say they are busy following up on several leads.

"The City of Kingston Police Department has a person of interest in this homicide investigation that we are actively seeking to question in regard to this incident, this homicide that occurred prior to Sunday," said Lt. Thierry Croizer.

Police aren't saying what relationship that person had with Jacobs-Royer's or any possible motive.
