WILTON, N.Y. -- Earlier this week, we learned two local movie theaters were closing their doors in less than two weeks from now. But the wide screens won't stay dark for too long. At least not at Wilton Mall.

With eight wall-to-wall screens, custom-built rocking seats and surround sound, Bow Tie Cinemas has big plans for the closing Regal Cinema space. Movie goers can expect to see traditional snacks like popcorn, candy and soda, but the menu will also feature hot foods like chicken tenders and French fries.

The COO of Bow Tie Cinemas announced his plans to us through Skype.

"We're doing the downtown theater in Saratoga. The 11 screen Bow Tie Criterion Cinemas will open in July and we're shooting for a November opening of a brand new theater at the Wilton Mall," said Joe Masher, COO of Bow Tie Cinemas.

The Regal Cinemas at Latham Circle is also closing on February 18th.

What many thought would be an anchor for the proposed construction of future shops will have to wait to see what the Boston-based developer, Grossman Group, has in store.
