STEPHENTOWN, N.Y. -- The man accused of driving drunk in a crash that left another man dead is indicted on 11 counts.
Brendan Hoffman is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and reckless driving.
Rensselaer County sheriff's deputies say Hoffman was driving down Cranston Hill Road in Stephentown when he crashed back in June of 2012. His passenger, Chris Baker, was thrown from the car and later died.
A witness called to report the crash and told first responders Hoffman got into another car and took off before responders arrived.
Sheriff's deputies say Hoffman's father called them several hours later to tell them about Baker.
Deputies then went back to the scene and found Baker about 100 feet away from the car.
Hoffman is expected to be arraigned next week.
