KINGSTON, N.Y. -- A snow emergency is in effect in Kingston. We caught up with the Department of Public Works to find out what that means for the city.

According to DPW's Michael Schupp, the snow emergency will remain in effect for at least 48 hours. During that time, all vehicles must be off the streets.

The DPW also amended the city bus routes. Schupp says the city buses will follow two "snow priority" routes until further notice.
