NORTHEAST UNITED STATES -- People all over the region woke up to find themselves buried by the snow storm. Some areas were luckier than others.

Mayor Bloomberg met with officials to check out the snow plows after the city was hit by the storm. The mayor asked people to stay off the roads so the plows could do their job and clear the roads. Most places in the city got about a foot of snow.

The plows were out in Connecticut getting the roadways clean. The state was one of the hardest hit, with some areas getting more than two feet of snow.

One Connecticut resident got a big surprise when they opened their backdoor in the morning. They found snow reaching about halfway up the backdoor.
