ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A car crashed into a house Saturday morning due to slippery roads. Firefighters say the driver lost control of the car before sliding off the road and hitting the garage of a home.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Orange County Medical Center for minor injuries.

Mechanicstown Fire Department Duty Chief Dominick Guardino said, “I believe the icy roads, the guy lost control of the car, slid off. And he took down the guard wire of the utility pole and then went right straight into the garage.”

Police say once the home is inspected, the people living there can return home.
