ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Police Department and the American Red Cross team up once again for an annual blood drive in memory of a fallen officer.
Lt. John Finn was shot back in December of 2003 while responding to a robbery call. Doctors gave him more than 200 pints of blood but they were unable to save him. Finn died weeks later after being taken off life support.
The blood drive will be held at the Albany Elks Lodge on South Allen Street from noon to 5 p.m.
Lt. Finn left behind a wife and two young girls.
