RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A community in Rensselaer County fondly remembers a teen who died in an accident Saturday morning. It happened on Route 20. Marian Hubbard, 20, was driving with her cousins, Nicole Hubbard, 19, and Alicia Hubbard, 18.

State Police say Marian crossed to the opposite lane, struck the guardrail, and the car overturned several times. Alicia, who was sitting in the backseat, was thrown out of the car and pronounced dead at the scene. Marian and Nicole are at Albany Medical Center, where they're being treated for their injuries.

The accident has shaken residents like Felicia Sitterly, who was good friends with Alicia in high school.

Felicia Sitterly says, “I didn't think she would go young, 18 years old. She didn't deserve it at all. It's hard for me and my family. My family knows her family.”

Family members were here at the scene. They didn't want to talk to us on camera. It's been a very emotional day for them. One relative told us he can't even understand how this happened.

Police say that alcohol was a factor, and they're also investigating whether or not the passengers were wearing their seat belts. Police have charged Marian Hubbard with DWI. But, they say they're not sure where the alcohol came from. As the investigation continues, friends hope for a better turn of events.

Sitterly says, “Marian, I feel sorry for. She needs to figure why, what happened. She needs to get well. We can't lose two people. We lost one. We can't lose her.”

Police are asking the public to come forward if they have any information about the accident.
