RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six teens have been charged in connection to Takim Smith's death. The young man was stabbed to death earlier this month at the Corliss Park Apartments in Troy.

A grand jury has handed up charges for six people: Mariyah Zeigler, 16, Keyanna Bradley, 18, Eric Mallard, 19, Ravenal Gregory Dunbar, 17 and Keith Ferguson, 17. They face charges of second-degree murder, first and second degree robbery, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon. Davonte McGill, 18, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with second degree murder as part of the indictment as well.

"There's a young man, he's a son, he's a father and he's a brother and he is dead. Six very young individuals, in their teens, are facing serious charges, with the potential of a life sentence. I think that says it," Rensselaer County District Attorney Richard McNally said.

The two girls, Zeigler and Bradley, were originally charged with just conspiracy in the case, but a grand jury increased the charges against them.

A seventh person connected to the case, Ahziarh Carter, 16, who was charged with murder, was not named in the indictment.
