The State Department of Consumer Protection has created a new toll-free hotline and website for New Yorkers to report suspected price gouging at gas stations.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Markets' Bureau of Weights and Measures will work with municipalities across the state to inspect gas stations to assure that people are getting what they're paying for and to make sure the quality of the gas is what buyers should expect.
