POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Every year Forbes Magazine releases their list of the most miserable cities in the country.
And this year, Poughkeepsie made the list. A total of nine factors are taken into consideration to determine what cities make the list.
Forbes looks at unemployment numbers, violent crime statistics, cost of taxes, commuting length and weather.
Forbes ranks Detroit as the most miserable city in the United States.
Poughkeepsie comes in at number 18. The magazine cites long commutes, poor weather, and high property taxes.
