SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- A mother from the North Country is accused of hiring strippers for her teenage son's birthday party.
South Glens Falls Police say this woman Judy Viger arranged for the women to perform "intimate dances" for party-goers under the age of 17. She's been charged with five counts of child endangerment.
The party in question happened in November at a private room at a local bowling alley.
Our legal expert Paul DerOhannesian, said that social media may have played a role in providing evidence for the case.
"The proof of this case is all over the internet because people's parties start posting photos. And, I think that's one of the things we start seeing these days. There is more evidence because people of their cell phones, they've got their cameras with them, they start clicking away. That's one source of proof and the second thing is it gets posted to the internet, which brings it to the attention of many people who will report this, including the investigators," said DerOhannesian.
Viger will appear in the court next month and police say no other arrests are expected.
