GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- Police have arrested a Gloversville man they had been investigating since January.

Marshall Alessi, 23, was arrested by Gloversville Police after they say he stole someone's social security number. According to police, Alessi used the number to buy over $2,000 worth in items online using PayPal. He's been charged with second degree identity theft and fourth degree grand larceny.

Alessi was arraigned and remanded to Fulton County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.
