COLONIE, N.Y. -- The Superintendent of Shenendehowa School Districts is at the top of his class. L. Oliver Robinson was named 2013 Superintendent of the Year by the New York State Council of Superintendents.

Robinson said he's proud to get the award, but this recognition is not just about his work in education.

“We need to celebrate public education. There's so many wonderful things taking place, but unfortunately the things that are being highlighted aren't those things. So, this recognition signifies that we have a lot of good people doing quality work on behalf of our students; and, I'm certainly proud to be one of those being recognized today,” said L. Oliver Robinson, NYS Superintendent of the Year.

Robinson said the award is also a celebration of the great work they do in Shenendehowa's schools.
