Following a scary bus crash last week, the Maine women's basketball team has decided not to participate in the America East Tournament.

There were some minor injuries to the players and the bus driver suffered serious injuries. The crash has taken a toll on the team so they've decided not to make the trip to Albany for this weekend's conference tournament.

They were supposed to play UAlbany in the first round, so Great Danes win by forfeit and are on to the semis on Sunday at 1:00pm.

Craig and Richards earn Weekly Awards

Meanwhile the Great Danes have swept the final America East weekly awards. After completing an undefeated regular season in conference play with two wins last week, Megan Craig has been named Player of the Week. Craig averaged 16.5 points, four rebounds and two blocks per game last week.

Freshman Shareesha Richards was named America East Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season. She averaged 11 points and seven rebounds in the two wins. She shot a conference best 71 percent from the floor.
