GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- SEFCU employees, their family members, and business partners bowled Sunday morning to raise money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Capital Region.
The event was part of the 20th annual Bowl for Kids Sake. 64 teams of bowlers from SEFCU bowled at Westlawn Lanes in Guilderland. SEFCU said the money raised will benefit various programs with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
"This year we'll raise at least $30,000. This organization needs it desperately. They match bigs with littles and they make a difference in these kids’ lives. They change the outcome. It's measurable and it happens year after year; but the bad news is, they've got a lot of littles that they do not have bigs to match. That's why they need the funds," said Michael Castellana, SEFCU President and CEO.
SEFCU has raised more than $240,000 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters over the past two decades.
