STATEWIDE -- State wildlife officials said shanties used for ice fishing must be removed by the end of the week.
Officials said the shanties need to be gone by Friday or owners could be fined $100.
The Department of Environmental Conservation said shanties that fall through the ice are difficult to remove and are a hazard to snowmobilers.
Those still in the water after the ice is gone can also damage boats.
