Brad Pitt produced movie filming in Warwick

The Town of Warwick is ready for its Hollywood close up. A movie produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B production company is currently filming in town. YNN's Meredith Zaritheny was on the set of "True Story" and has more on the new office that helped bring these filmmakers to Orange County.

WARWICK, N.Y. -- A big name in Hollywood is creating an even bigger buzz in our area. The movie "True Story" is filming on Brady Road in the Town of Warwick.

"The town is buzzing. It's bringing a lot of revenue to the town and everybody is very excited. There are sighting of Brad Pitt in town," said Elizabeth Storrs.

It's not the first time filmmakers have used the Town of Warwick as a backdrop, but this is a first for Dawn Ansbro and her team.

"Well we didn't know it was Brad Pitt's Plan B Productions at the time, but we were contacted by a location manager at the end of last year who was looking for a variety of locations, a log cabin in particular and empty jail. They were really looking for sort of a Montana feel, but close to New York City," said Dawn Ansbro, Director of Orange County Film Office.

Ansbro is part of the newly created Orange County Film Office and it's her job to work with production companies and filmmakers.

"Our role is really two fold. We're here as a liaison with the film industry and the government and agencies here in Orange County. So we're working with them to establish an infrastructure here in the county, people we know we can work with in different municipalities, application templates, so it's easy for filmmakers to come here and do business," said Ansbro

Over the past five years at least, a hand full of movies have been filmed in Orange County.

"That's the message we want to send to the film industry is we know how to do this, we're here to help you, we want you in our community. So we're excited about it, it's going to be a great film," said Michael Sweeton, Town of Warwick Supervisor.

"True Story" is based on a memoir by Michael Finkel, a former New York Times writer. In it, he learns one of the FBI's most wanted men, Christian Longo, has been living under his identity for years. Jonah Hill and James Franco have signed onto the project. The film will shoot in and around New York City through May 1st.
