ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating a shooting that left two teen girls injured.

Late Monday night, officers responded to First Street for a report of shots fired, but no victims were located.

During this investigation, officers received a call about an hour later for a woman with an unknown wound to her stomach on Quail Street. Police determined that the 17-year-old victim had been shot in the incident on First Street.

Around 2 a.m., officers received a call to Third Street for a report of another female with a gunshot wound to her stomach. Police said this 17-year-old had also been shot on First Street.

Both were treated at Albany Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Police said the shooting appears to be related to an ongoing dispute.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Albany police detectives at 518-462-8039.
