ALBANY, N.Y. -- The former maintenance worker who abused a 91-year-old woman has been sentenced in Albany County Court.
Richard Ragone, 64, will spend the next four years in prison, followed by 10 years of post release supervision as part of his plea deal. He pleaded guilty to one count of first degree sexual abuse.
Ragone was arrested last December after a co-worker witnessed him abusing the woman at the Loudonville Home for Adults.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares says the investigation into this crime is ongoing.
"This was phase one. Phase one is to hold the offender accountable. Phase two is see if there is accountability, a criminal liability to be placed on others," Soares said.
Ragone is a level three sex offender. He previously served a 16 year prison sentence for sex crimes in 1980.
