NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- A 45-year-old New York City resident who jumped out of an eighth story window with her 10-month-old baby was a 1986 graduate of Colonie Central High School.

Cynthia Wachenheim was killed in the fall and her baby has minor injuries.

The Colonie Central School District tells us Wachenheim was the valedictorian of her class and voted "Most Likely To Succeed" and "Smartest." She went on to attend the University of Buffalo and Columbia Law School.

Wachenheim worked as an associate court attorney for the State Supreme Court in New York County.

Police say the window of Wachenheim's apartment was wide open and there was no sign of a struggle.
