RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- North Greenbush officially has a new police chief. The Town Board approved the appointment of Robert Durivage at Thursday night's board meeting.
Durivage was approved unanimously by the board. He replaces Rocco Fragomeni, who retired last month. Durivage has been serving as the Acting Police Chief.
Family, friends and colleagues attended the meeting to watch Durviage be sworn in by a judge. Durivage says he's excited and ready to take on the job of Police Chief.
"I feel really good. I feel happy. I feel confident. I'm ready for this transition into this position, so I'm really happy, but ready," Durivage said.
"We're very pleased to be able to appoint Bob Durivage as our new chief. He's been with the department for 37 years and has done a terrific job," Town Supervisor Al Spain said.
Durivage has been a member of the police force since 1989.
