It may be championship weekend for the UAlbany men's and women's basketball teams, but the football squad has decided to steal some of the spotlight.

The Great Danes announced their 2013 football schedule on Thursday.

A big season on tap for UAlbany. The Great Danes are set to open the brand new Bob Ford Field and kick off their first season as a member of the CAA Conference. The defending NEC regular season co-champs will start off 2013 with a pair of games on the road, while the finishing touches are put on the brand new 8,500 seat stadium.

They'll face Duquesne and Colgate before heading home for the first time on September 14th against Rhode Island. Some other important dates on the slate include homecoming on October 19th against Towson.

Novemebr 9th and 16th will be fun when perennial conference powers Maine and UNH roll into town. The regular season finale will be on November 23rd at Stony Brook. This will be the first season for the Seawolves as well in the CAA.
