Former investment broker sentenced on grand larceny charges
ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Voorheesville man who pleaded guilty to 12 counts of grand larceny has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
Mark Casolo was arrested after police say he stole $2.2 million while working for McGinn, Smith and Company between 2006 and 2009. His clients gave him money believing they were investing in legitimate ventures. Instead, the District Attorney's office says Casolo took the money and used it on personal expenses, including depositing the money into his own accounts and paying off credit card bills.
