ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Thousands came out Saturday for the annual Saint Patricks Day Parade in Albany.
It was a little chillier this year than last year, when the high temperature was 63 degrees. This year temperatures only reached the mid-thirties; but, that didn't stop revelers from coming out and enjoying the fun.
Downtown Albany was a sea of green, as families and children took part in the festivities.
The Herrington family has been bringing their kids out to watch the parade for nine years now.
Colonie resident, Keith Herrington said, "It started out as a bunch of friends and family and it just grows year by year. Our friends are coming out with their kids we sit on top of the truck. We get out here real early in the morning nine o’clock if we can, and get our corner all set up and it's a great time!"
Each St. Patrick’s Day, the Herrington’s gather on Robin and Central to remember their friend Marie Boyle, who passed away nine years ago.
