Nearly 3,000 people turned out for a gun show in Saratoga Springs on Saturday. It's the second show this year. While the crowds were smaller than the last show, protestors from both sides of the gun-control debate were still drawn to the event. Erin Moran filed the following report.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Dozens gathered outside the Saratoga Springs City Center on Saturday to protest the gun show going on inside.

Some like Susan Steer, a member of Saratogians for Gun Safety, sounded off about the Center opening its doors to the show, “We do have issues with these guns being sold in a public, taxpayer funded facility that is located right in the center of our city.”

While others, like Bill Tansey, argued on a different side, calling for the repeal of the Safe Act, “I'm here because the Safe Act in New York State is making us less safe.”

Both sides fueled the other's argument.

“They're using the gun show as a means to further, also, limiting second amendment rights,” said David Bronner, a resident of Saratoga Springs.

MoveOn.org Organizer Susan Weber said, “We are doing everything we can to call attention to the public health crisis in our country that is gun-violence.”

Inside the City Center though, while the overall atmosphere was different, organizer David Petronis said those attending the show were demonstrating something, too.

“The people are inside. This is their protest right inside. They're here buying guns and ammo and fishing rods, and all kinds of things. Whatever they're protesting out there, out front, they've got a perfect right to do it and I'd defend that right; but, I think they're misguided,” said Petronis.

He has two more gun shows scheduled in Saratoga Springs in 2013. They are events that are sure to draw more controversy and protestors in the upcoming months.
