Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he will appeal a judge's ruling that blocked his ban on large sugary beverages. That ruling came down hours before the ban was supposed to start. The State Supreme Court judge called the ban "arbitrary." It would have limited the sale of non-diet sodas to 16 ounces or smaller at sporting events and restaurants, but not at supermarkets or convenience stores. Bloomberg said the ban is needed to confront an epidemic of obesity. Here to talk about the case is our very own Legal Eagle, Paul DerOhannesian.
