WALLKILL, N.Y. -- Attendees were showing their Irish pride at Wallkill’s 28th annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Irish eyes were smiling as parade floats and bagpipers marched up and down the streets.
Crowds wearing green enjoyed the music and dancing at "the best small town parade in the Hudson Valley."
Organizers said it was an honor to have the parade on St. Patrick's Day this year.
"We got lucky this year. I think this is our second or third time only that it's been on St. Paddy's Day. So, it's an honor to have today on St. Patrick's Day,” said Edwina Overton, Chairperson of the Bands.
Lillian Riggins was honored as this year's grand marshal. Her husband Peter passed away last year. He was the parade's chairman for almost three decades.
